Setting up the SN1000 is fast, easy, and straightforward. A typical deployment involves three or more Storage Nodes, providing for performance and redundancy. With our TrueCluster architecture, you can be running a truely clustered storage system on your network in under 10 minutes.

What's in the box The SN1000, SN2000 & SN4000 are made up of multiple nodes. Rack mount screws and two ethernet cables are included with each unit.

How you set it up Setup is very simple and it will likely take you longer to mount the devices in the rack than to actually get it ready to store data. Just follow these steps:

  • Unbox, mount in the rack and power on the device

  • Plug one ethernet port into the "public" network switch (more detail below)

  • Plug the other ethernet port into the "private" network switch (more detail below)

  • Set the IP, Subnet and Gateway via serial port

  • If the brick is joining an existing cluster, the new node immediately expandes capacity and performance

  • Pull up a web browser and hit any of the IPs of the units you just setup and instantly manage the entire cluster of bricks with a web-based management console.

How the SN1000 & SN2000 connects to the network The diagram below shows the setup of a small SN1000 cluster. The cluster runs on its own private network, physically connected to your internal network via GigE. Once connected, communication with the SN1000 cluster can happen via a number of protocols including iSCSI, NFS, and CIFS/Samba.
