- Intelligent Scaling: The intelligence in each appliance allows it to seamlessly attach itself to the cluster without the need for third party software solutions, controller units or complex and prone to malfunction arrays. Simply add Scale TBs with the SN1000, SN2000 or SN4000 and your storage capacity increases instantly. By viewing all storage nodes as a single file system, our architecture reduces the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) significantly.
- No Single Point of Failure: Another key benefit to the architecture is that there is no single point of failure. This is only possible when each storage appliance acts as an intelligent unit. As storage is added to the cluster, it is immediately recognized by all other appliances in the cluster and data seamlessly begins to mirror across the file system. When one unit malfunctions, the cluster continues to make your data available while alerting you of any problems.
- Self Healing: Scale’s architecture uses all its resources to automatically load balance between all disks. Each file is mirrored and striped across the cluster, using all disks equally and distributing data across the cluster. This ensures that key services and information will not be jeopardized.
- Massive Network Bandwidth: With Scale, bandwidth is expanded (rather than sacrificed) with each added storage node. As you scale your storage, you are also increasing your ports per TB.
